I caved and finished reading all of Tsubasa. Well, that was a mindfuck. o_o But it sort of made more sense than I expected it to? And it was sort of lovely? Even if weird? And a bit disturbing in the case of the original Syaoran? (dude, that's your mom's clone). Anyway, it's still Sakura and Syaoran (lots of them) and they will always make me sigh in contentment. So, SIGH. Aw. Let's be melodramatic and say that an entire cycle of my life has ended! I mean, I started reading this when it was no more than ten chapters long, in 2003. In fact, I think my first ever fanfic, published in the ever-horrible ff.net, was a Tsubasa fic (a horribly, horribly written cliched fic). SIGH AGAIN.

Weirdly enough, I started the epic catching up because I was wondering if Hikaru, Fuu and Umi had ever appeared in Tsubasa, and lo! there they were! Nice coincidence. Now I'll catch up on xxxHolic!

So, after ages and ages of not reading the manga because it got Too Damn Weird (capitals needed) I trolled wikipedia for the ending of Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle. UM, WHAT. Seriously, what. Anyone care to explain the ending in more detail than wiki? It's a bit confusing. o_o Last I read it was around the time the whole clone situation was uncovered and Syaoran and Sakura's first "real" meeting. After which I promptly said: WHAT. This manga, it does keep my reactions predictable. MMM, now I'm tempted to get reading it again. If only for the sake of closure? I DON'T KNOW.

I mean, I get it, cyclical and stuff, but... that took a lot of turns to close the circle. A hell of a lot of turns.

Man, I'm so tired. Remember that cutesy-to-the-max muffin brand I was supposed to develop for Design class? It's due Wednesday, so me and my teammates have been busting our asses to get it done. ARGH. Anyway, it's SO CUTE. EEEEH.

Here! Take a loot at the UBER CUTENESS that is our muffins' special Christmas packaging! EEEEH )

AAAANYWAY. I WAS supposed to catch up with tv shows this long weekend (I still haven't watched SPN (gasp!), I've missed the last two eps of True Blood and I have the US version of Life on Mars to mock mercilessly watch.) but instead I read a lot - books, comics and old, dusty, but still amazing, Naruto/Sasuke fic. BECAUSE THAT'S HOW I ROLL, FOLKS. It seems that I sort of want to read Naruto again. WELL IMAGINE THAT. I haven't read aaaany of it since, er, when was it? OH, YEAH. When team 7 is reunited again since the time-jump and we get to see Sasuke's new outfit in all its GARISH, HORRIBLE GLORY. GOD, THAT BOW. EW. EW EW EW. So I'm TORN because I thought I'd BROKEN UP with the manga (I've never even dated the anime. So much stupid filling, ugh) and yet I find myself REALLY MISSING THE SUBTEXT THAT WASN'T EVEN SUBTEXT ANYMORE. UUUUUUM.

So, has Naruto gotten any better as of lately? HAS SASUKE GOTTEN A NEW OUTFIT? PLEASE TELL ME SO. BECAUSE THAT BOW HAS TO DIE.

I watched The Dark Knight last night. HOLY SHIT, GUYS. I got the chills, that's how fucking incredible it was. It was just delightfully disturbing and real feeling – I love it when superhero stories (or fantasy, for that matter) is solidly grounded on reality; that’s why I loved Watchmen as much as I did, I guess. In all, it was claustrophobic, horrifying and utterly fantastic. That feeling of panic, and how morally complex it was. Batman Begins was good, but this is years ahead of it, in every way.

HOLY SPOILERS, BATMAN! )

I’ve been in the mood for painful, unhealthy and doomed romance, along with being in the mood for Clamp, so I went and read Tokyo Babylon. It’s so weird, but I’d never finished it (I only got through the first volume, I think?), and yet I liked it lots. The final volume might be painpainbloodpainsakuraspain, but even the first, cheerful volumes are sort of depressing, knowing how it all ends. Jeez, no wonder Subaru and Kamui get along so well, that with their angst and their evil sort-of-boyfriends.

I think I’ll be re-reading all of X one of these days. It’s been far too long.

ETA: ZOMG, YOU GUYS, HAVE YOU SEEN THE WATCHMEN TRAILER? ASLFJA;LSJF, SO FUCKING AMAZING.

I still haven't watched Who's finale. I'm dreading it a bit, if I have to be honest. UM. In other news, I had to go to school once again to fix yet another thing with the student exchange. The paperwork has been so exhaustive and long that I BETTER get accepted. Grr.

I re-read all of my Card Captor Sakura collection last week (physical collection, mind. I only own about ten tankoubons of Tsubasa and eight of xxxHolic, but I’m only missing a few issues of CCS, which is made of awesome), seeing that I’ve been in an odd manga mood, and I decided it was time around to catch up with Clamp.

Well. I’m all caught up with Tsubasa now, and I am very, very confused. )

It is my firm belief that Kamui’s true power is to spread angst whenever he goes. Seriously, the boy has a gift for it. Any of the other dragons showed up and it was dandy. He does and the world goes gloomy and – GASP – Clamp starts throwing grayscale tones around. Grayscale tones of doom, I might add. o_O

Oh, and I’m also all caught up with xxxHolic. It is, as always, just charming, and it’s managed to remain mysterious and intriguing without going into the realm of wtfuckery like Tsubasa has. Huh. I love Tsubasa, but boy, does it sometimes make my head ache.

OKAY. almost caught up now. Also, this is the last preview/trailer/whatever I watch, so after Turn Left, I completely refuse to be spoiled for ANYTHING. So pleaaaase, don't spoil me guys. *puppy eyes*

Doctor Who 4x10 – Midnight: )

ALSO. I AM ALL CAUGHT UP WITH BLEACH. HOLY SHIT. WHAT A RIDE. I liked the Arrancar arc, especially because Rukia is AWESOME. I love that gal. So fucking much. And Ichigo. And Renji. EEEEH. And the flashback arc was fantastic, oh my, and now I'm all ready to swoon for Hirako and Urahara. :D :D :D

My stupid neighbors put a password on their wirless. So now I'm sad and bereft of any internet whatsoever and depend entirely in this crummy cybercafe. WHYYYYY. Stupid neighbors. Stupid phone people. Bah. So whatever did I during my internetless weekend of fail? READ MANGA. YES. I AM AS SURPRISED AS YOU ARE.

It seems like life was just calling out ‘Bleaaaaach, Bleaaaaach’ to me, so at last I listened to it. SOOOO, I re-read chapters 10 to 123. In one sitting. And then I read up to chapter 234 the next day. BLEACH OVERLOAD MUCH? But oh, I hadn’t realized how much I missed them all. Soul Society Arc was awesome, and I loved the political intrigue, but it WAS a bit frustrating to see Rukia do, uh, nothing for like, 60 chapters, even if she’s the mayor motivation for it all. But oh well, that was just the pull I needed to finally get nicely caught up with it – I stopped reading somewhere along the start of the Arrancar arc, about, uh, a year and a half ago? (Wait, no, Ichigo was already training with Hirako and co. UM.) As soon as I get my precious internet back, that is. ;___;

Also. You know what Back in Black means to me? Not, it’s not AC/DC. Not, not even the Impala (okay, there’s a tiny bit of the Metallicar, I admit). No, it’s not Amy Winehouse or even Iron Man. Uh-huh, for me, Back in Black is chapter 64 of Bleach, Ichigo finally wearing shinigami black again. When I first read that? I got CHILLS. So fucking amazing. ♥

If I remember correctly, one of the first entries in this journal was basically BLEACH IS KEWL YOU SHOULD READ IT. That still stands, as much as I've grown away from manga/anime.

I spent most of my day driving my brother around. My life, it is so glamorous.

This interview by MGMT made my day. Man, but I like those guys SO MUCH - they're all weird and simple and like, SO OUT OF IT, haha.

I saw My Little Bride yesterday, which is a cute Korean movie about a high schooler that gets somewhat tricked by her grandfather into marrying his best friend's grandson. HIJINKS ENSUE. Thing is, it's like Goong redux, minus the political intrigue and the hot brooding asshole-y princes. GOD, I MISS GOONG. SO MUCH. Plus, the main actresses look really alike and the gal that played Chae-Kyung's weird heart-something holding also appears in here. HUH. It was still really cute, though, it made me laugh and squee a bit and it was perfect for my mood. So it's nothing extraordinary, but quite nice.

Other than that, WOOT, Iron Man fic is rea-dy (er, as soon as I think of a title, that is) for posting and I'm soooort of starting apocalyptical Booth/Brennan. YAY BONES. I just have to get this out of my mind, and then, then I'll be able to start on my [livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon, seeing that I've finally figured out how to work that specific crossover. Good good.

I went to see My Blueberry Nights last night, and it was just delightful. Sure, it's not Wong Kar Wai's best, but no one was expecting it to be, and it was actually better than I expected. Sure, Norah Jones is no actress, but she is rather charming and unassuming and, again, no one was expetcing her to be good anyway. In any case, the main love story is adorable, Jude Law was was enchanting in his role, Natalie Portman finally did something different than her usual roles and Rachel Weisz stole the movie. God, that woman is incredible. It was still a very Wong Kar Wai movie, though - the color palette, the camera shots and slow motion, it was all very him. And anyway, the ending left me grinning like an idiot, so it's all fine.

AND THEN TODAY I SAW INDIANA JONES AND SOMETHING SOMETHING INVOLVING A SKULL. HELLZ YEAH. Okay, so it wasn't as good as the first trilogy but DUDE, WHO CARES, IT'S INDIANA FUCKING JONES AND HE'S BACK IN OUR SCREENS!!!! So yeah, I liked it. Guilty pleasure and all, but I did. It lacked a bit music score, though. And logic, but again, this is Indy, I don't watch these movies for silly things like logic anyway. NOW, SPOILERS! ) In any case, now I just have this CRAVING to rewatch the original series, especially The Last Crusade, which has always been my favorite because MMM INDY IN VENICE and MMM SEAN CONNERY LOOKING ALL HOT.

Well, I'm feeling much better after last post's rage. I went to a homeopat...itian? What's the term? And she said I should really stop getting so angry so randomly. She's right, of course, but it's... hard. I've always been incredibly moody. In any case, going out to get tacos was incredibly therapeutic, lol.

I watched the first episode of the Kimi Wa Petto drama, and boy, was that fun. :) Sure, some stuff is kinda... odd, while translated into screen, but I actually laughed a lot and I do think I'll be watching the rest (although mostly because the ending of the manga isn't scanlated yet, and I really wanna know how it ends). Visually it's nothing interesting, though -- it feels almost amateur, and the photography reminds me a lot of 90s movies, especially because of all those wonky camera angles (the sweeps of rooms and stuff), and it's far too bare. Mostly because I keep on expecting it to be over the top, because damnit, if I'm already watching shoujo drama, I WANT MY SHINY STARS AND ROSES. HAHA. I'm way too fond of parodies, I really should re-watch Ouran Host Club, that never failed to make me cry from laughter XDD

Oh yeah, and that dude Matsumoto Jun is pretty cute. lol.
