OKAY. almost caught up now. Also, this is the last preview/trailer/whatever I watch, so after Turn Left, I completely refuse to be spoiled for ANYTHING. So pleaaaase, don't spoil me guys. *puppy eyes*
Doctor Who 4x10 – Midnight: Man, but that was good. So much tension and it kept building up and up and oh, but I do love psychological mind fucks. Humanity at its best and its worst, and the Doctor in the middle, being disappointed in them. That’s my favorite kind of creepy stuff, the one that doesn’t need crappy CGI to be, well, creepy. I very much liked the idea of it, strangers coming together and then coming apart . For some reason I don’t have many thoughts on it other than WOAH, COOL, and ZOMG ALL THOSE MOMENTS (“What was the hostess’ name?”, “I said it was her, I did,”) and DUDE, HELLO REALITY CHECK FOR THE DOCTOR.
Oh, and the Doctor calling out Rose, Martha and Donna's names was rather Seven-ish and rather awesome. ♥
So yes. There’s that.
(I’d never heard of a companion-like episode before, but guessing from the previews Turn Left is the Doctor-lite ep? Dunnoooo, but it looks awesome.)
ALSO. I AM ALL CAUGHT UP WITH BLEACH. HOLY SHIT. WHAT A RIDE. I liked the Arrancar arc, especially because Rukia is AWESOME. I love that gal. So fucking much. And Ichigo. And Renji. EEEEH. And the flashback arc was fantastic, oh my, and now I'm all ready to swoon for Hirako and Urahara. :D :D :D

re: Bleach
I have SO MUCH LOVE for that backstory, so much is explained. And the younger versions of the characters? MADE OF WIN. Hee! Angry little Byakuya! Wee tiny Nanao!
Re: Bleach
I loved how tight Hirako and Hayuri and the rest of them were already at that point - it explains so much about how they work together as vizards and ooooh, Urahara. So awesome. And weird. And awesome. AND YORUICHI, EEH.
I was so expecting Isshin to appear, though, I was somewhat shocked that he didn't. o_O
Re: Bleach
But yes, the Byakuya of 100 years ago and the Byakuya of 50-ish years ago are so different that there has to be some kind of story there beyond just growing into his role as a noble.
Also, it kind of boggles me that Urahara was apparently Captain of 12th Company for...what...a week before getting kicked out? You could time his tenure with a stopwatch!
Someday I'm going to make a long list of backstory I'd really like to get. It will almost certainly include Isshin's time as a soul reaper, not to mention his apparent familiarity with whassisname...Ishida, Uryuu's father; it will definitely include the story of how the Shiba family fell, and I'm sure there's more...I'm just blanking on it at the moment.
In the meantime, I need to check out Ch316 for myself.

My heart went bounce when he said that and Midnight scared the crap out of me. *shudders at the memory*

See, HE LOVES THEM AAAAALL. ♥ It was such a lovely detail. :D

oh and I watched my first whole Classic Who episode yesterday. Tom Baker was 4, correct? It was the Pirate Planet, and it's been fun. all I remember from Classic Who being shown on TV was K-9 going in some dark alley, so this was nice to see.

Oooh, I haven't seen that on! What did you think of it? If I have to be honest, I've seen very, very litle classic Who, which I really should change. The Doctor I've seen most of is Seven, which is awesome with Ace, though.

And the Doctor said both "clever" and "fantastic" repeatedly. yaaaaay
and he has one fantastic scarf.
And I kind of like Romana, in her arrogant know-it-all Time Lord (Time Lady?) way.
AND K-9!!!!!!!
