nekare: (Ergo Proxy - Real)
I've fallen in love, love, love with this Sweden band, Kent. Seriously, they're too awesome, and I've already gone and burned a CD (with a pretty cover, even!) and sqee'd along all the way too school XD

Ergo Proxy 18 - Life After God: )

Finished Stardust. Why is it that only Neil Gaiman can start a typical fairy tale story and make it so bloody at the end? It's really good, though, nice characters and descriptions, even if it doesn't feel like him at times, it's a bit more alike to what Diana Wynn Jones would write. The only complaint? The pacing. Another two hundred pages wouldn't have hurt at all - it leaves too much stuff to the imagination. Oh well, it was lovely, anyway. :)

Wrote two other little pages for my XMM Ficathon entry. It... Seriously needs some editing. But I've been too lazy to actually type it yet, *sigh*

Today's been one of those days that you just want to get over with.

First, I went out of home only to discover that some asshole had practically teared my car's left mirror in between yesterday and this morning. So I only taped it with my trusted maskin tape, and fuck, but I'd already broken my right mirror before (that one was my fault, though), and now it'll look patched up on both sides. FUCK.

Then. Japanese class went... Badly. Basically, I'm up to taking the yonkyuu exam this december (the lowest of the required exams to be accredited, the next one's the sankyuu and on and on), although I'd had my doubts before. BUT, I had class with a new teacher, and he speaks EVERYTHING in Japanese. And I do mean EVERYTHING. So I was just like 'Go, Ale, you can do it. Just nod and smile.' and it was horrible to only grasp like, a single word from an entire sentence. And what's worse? My new classmates are all two or three semesters up from me, so I'm like 'WTF?' and they're like, totally having a conversation with the teacher (and it doesn't help that they've both actually been in Japan). So that was lousy, and Lira, my Japanese buddy, didn't even show up (it would've been nice to be 'wtf' together...), and she was supposed to get me back the movies I lent her before summer holidays. Then on the last two hours, we had a written exam, a 'sample' of the yonkyuu, and from 47 questions, I had fucking THIRTY mistakes. 30. It was horribly depressing.

The only good part of the entire deal is that I'm back in the same group with a guy I'd had somewhat of a crush on before he left for Canada last semester. And well, he's still more advance than I am, but we're at least somewhat close in knowledge. I'll start taking my Japanese notes to school or something, because I need to catch up, and I need to do so fast.

The day didn't get better until I got home and my dad started to make impromptu crépes. Oh, and I watched I ♥ Huckabees. It's good, if somewhat confusing.

Now I'll just go and curl into a curner and watch both of the newly subbed Ergo Proxy episodes to get me out of my misery.

EDIT: My dad is baking a chocolate-chip cake. They day might not be a complete loss after all.

My brother has been the most annoying drama queen all day long, starting since this morning when I went and taught my grandpa to use his computer and just because he helped for like, ten minutes, he wanted half the money! UGH. I kinda wanted to throttle him.

I got my groove back a while before, though, when my cousin Nadia called me to say her aunt had already given back her Smallivelle DVDs, so she'll be borrowing me the first four seasons, yay! I'll be picking them up tomorrow, so I'll probably be having a week-long marathon, or something. :)

I watched up to ep. 14 or Ergo Proxy yesterday, and my God, but how much I love that show. I'll be making a review post tomorrow, before I get sucked into Smallville. And ugh, how I hope the group that subs it will get to upload the rest soon. (man, I sound like such a whiny fic-reviewer, or something, but me? = OBSESSED.) It's odd how my my favorite favorite animes of all times (manga is a different thing), are all made by kinda the same people: Cowboy Bebop, Witch Hunter Robin and Samurai Champloo. o_0 Speaking of which, Manolo, a friend of mine hasn't returned WHR. DAMN IT I WANNA SEE IT AGAIN.

I finally got to burn the first half of Day Watch, and I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN IT. I fail at life.

Anhelo: To Yearn, to long for. (The H doesn't make any sound in Spanish, we actually call it 'mute'. A as in 'and', elo as in 'hello'.) I love this word because it's so evocative, it somehow matches the meaning. I love the spelling too - the H doesn't do anything, but it sure looks pretty in there. It sounds a bit like 'Aéreo', which makes me think of this word as delicate and air-born, smoke-like.

I ache to write. I ache to draw, and yet, I do nothing at all. I really need to stop procrastinating, or, dunno, something. God.

Ergo proxy continues to rock my socks. Man, that atmosphere. *happy sigh*

I forgot to say, I bought Zoé's The Room Ep the other day - an odd one for me, considering I don't like remix cds, and well, only three new songs. Oh well, it's nice, I'll upload it later.

Doctor Who is on TV right now, subtitles are a godsend, really. It's The Doctor Dances, for some strange reason that I don't want to start to fathom, the network decided to translate the title as 'the face-less boy' WTF???

I want to go to the movies. I want to do so much stuff, and yet, I feel so damn apathetic. It's just stupid.
