I've been tagged by [livejournal.com profile] swedish15!

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5. Don’t you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
6. Tag three people

The closest book, no cheating (it's the one on the top of my 'don't-fit-anywhere-anymore-God-what-am-I-going-to-do-with-so-many-books' pile), it's the one I'm reading right now. Seriously, I'm on page 30, I'm going to be spoiled like mad *g*

He's got his own security detail of half a dozen other guys in suits. Even though they aren't doing security, they couldn't help ssending along a token delegation to show de colors.

This is a non sequitur that has been nibbling on the edges of Hiro's mind for the last ten minutes: Laser light has a particular kind of gritty intensity, a molecular purity reflecting its origins.

'Snow Crash', by Neal Stephenson.

I tag: [livejournal.com profile] dixie_pink, [livejournal.com profile] onadancefloor, and [livejournal.com profile] haltlos (because I want to see if I get the change of getting something in German XD)

You want something in German? :>

Considering that all my books are on the shelves, and the cookbooks and dictionaries don't count, as well as HP because we all know that, I'd say the nearest German book to me is Homo faber by Max Frisch, which is an awesome awesome book that we discussed with an equally awesome teacher last year. XD

Was ist denn meine Schuld?

He, umm, talks about this girl sleeping next to him, then about cars, and in the last sentence he asks what his fault is. >.> That's Walter Faber to you.

Sounds intriguing! (I just realized what it means about the Alfa Romeo. Is it too easy to tell how ugly I think ghose cars are?) I always like stories with rambling characters, it feels very human. :)

You could tell me and I wouldn't mind, but mostly just because I have no idea whatsoever about cars. XD

Oh, you should read the book, if you can lay hands on any translation, then you'll know what I mean. It is fabulous.

By the way. That book [personal profile] haltlos picked is quite awesome, too. :> At least I liked it when I read it some years ago...
