FIVE HOURS FOR YEAH YEAH YEAHS' CONCERT TO BEGIN, OH MY GOD. Weee, I'm so excited. (And since I've been hearing their new album to get into the mood, is it just me or pretty much half of Show Your Bones sounds so very southern? Alomost like southern lullabies, I'd say. O_o Am I crazy?)
I still haven't watched Torchwood because I SUCK.
But to make up for it, it's reccing time!
Fundamental Image Universe by
rei_c. This being a link to the index of the story. I read Threnody, the 7th part, first, by mistake, and was confused by it but read it nevertheless because it was so damn good. Then I discovered it was part of a larger thing, and started reading in order. Most of this is post-series, and the main idea is Sam coming into his powers, getting haunted by the sheer magnitude of them. It's lovely and wonderful - and oooh, but the plot. So good.
Only one thing. 'Fundamental Image', the last and 'most important' part of the verse was written first, so while the rest of the story feels like a big, condensed build up for this, it doesn't deliver as much. Also, this part is Sam/Dean, while the rest of the story is completly gen. If wincest's not your cup of tea, just skip it, it's perfectly understandable without it.
By the same author, Man Enough To Face the Darkness, is a post apocalypse fic that left me awed. It's... tricky to follow, since it doesn't have a linear storyline, but it's wonderful anyway, haunting and and with a great style. Sam/Dean, nc-17, though. This Sam is so, so damn broken, that it's hard to see in canon, (just like Dean is in Of Bastard Saints), but the story is worth it.

eight_horizon. Genderswap, wincest, dub-con. With that premise, it's easy to think this is crack, but it can't be more far away than that. Aching, wonderful story about the lenghts Sam would go to keep Dean safe.
All The King's Horses by
javajunkie13. asldfjasldfj. Taryn pwned me with this, because damn, but it aches so much. Gen, post CSPWDT. I love the subtle-but-there reversal of roles in this one.
High Wire by
candle_beck, Sam/Dean, R. The Winchesters before Stanford, hunting and living and trying their hardest to live with each other. Lovely. And hot.
All Fall Down by
brin_bailey, Dean/Jo. This is the story I would've loved to write to convince myself Dean/Jo is, in fact, a good idea. Well this definitely served that purpose. Spare and real and so, so good. The first five times that Dean meets Jo, he doesn't love her.
Now, people, don't you feel like reccing me back? Don't you? *prods*
EDIT: I just remembered! I saw this guy today that had the SAME nose as Jared Padalecki. FOR REALZ. His chin was alwo pretty alike, and (I saw him while driving, so I couldn't see his entire face - and from what I saw, his forehead wasn't all that pretty) if he leaned back a bit, he would've BEEN Jared. IT WAS SURREAL, I TELL YOU.
