I stood in line for two hours today to pay the fucking stupid parking ticket I got the other day, which was like, seven dollars. My feet ache for seven stupid bucks. Ugh I hate the trafic system. So much. On top of that I got my period today and every car in the city seemed to be conspiring to go as slowly as possible, so I've been moody and pissy all day long. Awesome.
So, to make myself feel better, I went to my favorite bookstore, yay! I bought:
- Music For Chameleons by Truman Capote (because I am sick of classics, yes. And because I'm getting tired of being the only person in existance that's never read something of his.)
- Mañana en la batalla piensa en mí (tomorrow in the battle think of me) by Javier Marías
- Todos los fuegos el fuego (every fire the fire) by Julio Cortázar (because it features one of my favorite short story of his, La Señorita Cora, which is made of WIN WIN WIN)
I'd run out of paperbacks, so I'm full of glee, yes. I'm supposed to be reading Alice in Wonderland right now, but Alice annoys me, if I gotta be honest, and I'm just not in the mood for it right now. I've been craving literature in Spanish for a while, anyway.
Also. A Barnes & Noble just opened in Monterrey and I am SEETHING WITH ENVY. COME HERE BB, I SWEAR I'LL SHOP SO MUCH YOU'LL GO DIZZY.
I'm trying to get into the Smiths. I've been listening to their self-titled album and The Queen is Dead all afternoon long, and I like it. But I'm a n00b, so, What's your favorite Smiths song/album/trivia and/or related anecdotes about them?

BUT, I has an anecdote with their music. My first ever boyfriend made me a mixed CD with Girlfriend In A Coma as the first track and to be honest, that song is pretty much our relationship in song form. So now every time I listen to it, it makes me think of him in a happy-sad kind of way & sometimes I call him. Calling him is a bad idea because he's probably the most infuriating person that I've ever met.

Woot! I love hearing song anecdotes, they're mighty cool. :D :D Haha, I can totally see you calling him all nostalgic and stuff only to hang up later saying OMG WHY DO I KEEP CALLING HIM. XD
Dude, Captain Planet is the AWESOMEST THING THAT EVER AWESOME(D). My childhood is made up almost entirely of crappy 90s cartoons, haha XD (I saw some clips in youtube a while ago and it was SO WEIRD because I'm SO used to it being in Spanish and like. There were nazi villians stealing bombs or SOMETHING and it made no sense and it was GLORIOUS. YES.)

I spent half my life up until I was about 6 singing the theme tune constantly. Captain Planet, he's a hero. Gunna take those bad guys down to zero..
My childhood consisted of Power Rangers/Carebears/Dragon Ball Z/Captain Planet/the X-Men cartoon & Tansformers. & now I look at the little-kid's tv shows & THEY DON'T KNOW THAT THEY'RE MISSING! Bad 90's TV FTW!

ZOMG POWER RANGERS. I was the yellow one and misunderstoooood. (Stupid Kimberly. She annoyed me. But not as much as her replacement.) I remember that when they first started airing I used to bo to bed at 7pm (LOL) and I had to BEG my parents so they'd let me stay up to watch it because it finished at 7:30! XDD

I used to beg my mum & dad to let me stay up long enough to watch Are You Afraid Of The Dark & Goosebumps. I swore to them that I was a BIG girl & I wouldn't get freaked but OMG. Nothing had ever scared me so much in my ENTIRE LIFE as those two shows. Not ever.
I'm sat here - RESORTING TO YOUTUBE - watching old cartoon 'coz MY GOD I feel all nostalgic now. Also, listening to Billie Piper XD I loved her & the Spice Girls beyond ALL REASON when I was about 5/6.

Are you afraid of the dark SCARED THE FUCK OUT OF ME. Just the memory still does. ;___; (you remember that episode with the twins from sister sister? In the chameleon episode? OH GOD. SO CREEPY.)
Haha, I'D NEVER heard of Billie Piper before I started watching Who, and everyone kept saying OH FAMIOUS POPSTAR BILLIE and I was all like WHOOO? The Spice Girls, though, I ADORED. Them and their stupid movie which I found AWESOME BEYOND BELIEF at the tender age of 12 XD

I do remember that episode -shudders- but the one that I first remember scaring me was the pirate one? Yeah. DUN LEIK.

My favorite album is probably Strangeways, Here We Come, but it's a close call.
And lastly, I am in possession of all things Smiths, so let me know if you want anything uploaded. I'll see what I can do.

Weeell. I've been having a lot of trouble trying to get a hold of both Strangeways... and Meat is Murder so, if you could upload those? I'd be so so grateful. *puppy eyes*
