Well I tried to prepare myself some coke and rum, but in all honesty, this is more rum with coke than the other way around, lol. Good Mother's Day's Cheer, here I go!
So, picture time! Remember how I'm in Editorial Design this semester? Well, I re-designed Fight Club from scratch and also did a short poetry book, woot! Here's how they turned out :D
Sure, I could just post the digital files, but that doesn't have that certain je ne sais quoi, does it?

Shiny book is shiny. I just plastified it today, that's why. Anyway. I'm still not completely happy with the way the cover got printed, but the first time around I printed it was in a plotter, and it came out disgusting, and I was short of time so that stuck. But apart from that, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I love the movie to bits, and now I'm halfway through the book and I'm loving it to bits as well - so this assignment was sort of fantastic, really. ♥

Anyway, this is the original pic. Photoshop, baby, I has it. I've always associated Fight Club with the color green, for some reason, so I just HAD to have a greenish tint to the pic. HAD TO. I did mention how our original model bailed on us, the bastard, didn't I? Well he DID. Bah. So this guy isn't nearly as handsome, but at least he does look tougher and more rugged than the original one... And he did love getting all the bruises make-up. So oh well.

Back cover. I reaaally like this one, probably my favorite part of the entire book, lol.

Mmm, what's it called... it's 'portadilla' in Spanish, sort of like 'little cover'. The first page of the book, anyway. Yep, I designed/printed/organized all of the interiors as well, which takes aaages. *sigh*

Look, Ma, like a real book! Got most of it out of nowhere but the dedication I got from Lullaby, haha.

Fear my mad introduction writing skillz, roar. The book is in English because I already had the .pdf sitting in my drive and I wasn't planning on typing an entire book in a weekend. I swear, I'm not malinchista. Promise.

Look how pretty it is! All pretty paper, and everything. *happy sigh*

My plaquette, which is a glorified poem book. As y'all can probably guess, it's all poems by Rubén Darío, which I hated because the man is so bland. And freaking corny. But oh well. Second book is also shiny, yikes. I love this cover. I want to do naughty things with it. :D

The back cover, in the other hand, I'm not a great fan of, but I was in a hurry. Boo.

More book babble! Mostly invented as well, lol.

Aaaand the interiors. I would never put such a big graphic in a prose book, but it sort of fits a poetry book, doesn't it? As long as it doesn't become bothersome to read. *shrug* Besides, it's sort of pretty.
Aaaand that's it. I truly do love editoral design, I do want to work on it once I graduate; I'd get to mix my two true loves :D
I also have Choke on .pdf, and since I can't read decent books on the computer and I have now realized that putting your own book together isn't that hard, I really want to print that one as well. It's not that expensive, either - the entire book must have been just a little over 10 dlls.

You reproduced the entire Fight Club novel? O_o
Using a personal printer?

Well, I didn't print it at home, I went to this printing specialized cybercafe near my school, but yeah, I did have to print the entire novel, all 160 pages of it, lol.
