Am so so very tired. Am also happy fangirl.

The music fest I was talking about was yesterday, and while it wasn't as good as the one on May, it was still awessssome.

Paramore, ah, was okay. I don't like their music, not really, but all of my male friends drooled over the vocalist, lol. My brother, who has dodgy music tastes at best, asked me to get him a Paramore t-shirt, at which I went OH, MAN, DON'T MAKE ME DO THAT. In any case, there weren't any left when I went looking for it, so whatever.

The Kooks gig was at around 5:30-ish, which means it was still SUNNY AS FUCK and hot hot hot but it was still greaaaaat even if I've barely listened to their new album, and couldn't sing for half the concert. The vocalist looks SO MUCH like this guy from high school (my then best-friend, woe) that I used to crush on like woah, all curly hair and narrow nose and boyish face. SO CUTE. They started with I'm Always Where I Need To Be and ended with Sofa and I about died at Ooh La. ♥ Anyway, because high school still haunts me, apparently: There was this guy that was in my freshman year English class (hot as fuck, all angles and red lips and black black hair and really pale skin. Everyone calls him Pato [Duck] for some reason I can't fathom.) in front of me, grinding along with his girlfriend, and it was sort of HILARIOUS and WEIRD because MAN but they were a step short of actually having sex right there in the pit (he even unhooked her bra!) and he was sort of dancing and shaking his hips and everyone kept on LOOKING, like, not believing it. LOL.

(I want someone to be shameless with, damnit. Just, you know. A footnote.)

And then there were TELETUBBIES. YES. YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT. Courtesy of The Flaming Lips and their FANTASTIC show - appart from the dozen or so people (from the crowd!) dressed as teletubbies, there was a giant star and a fish dressed like a gay biker (lolll) and a bazillion balloons and the vocalist went and rolled around on the crowd in a giant plastic bubble (!!) and it was rather awesome. :DDDD Psychodelic and colorful and awesome, actually.

And then! MGMT!! Truth to be told, it could've been better. But that's because it was so CROWDED and I was alone (the one friend that likes them I couldn't find, and the rest stayed in the other scenery to have a good place for STP) and I could barely see anything. WOE, because they played SO AMAZINGLY. LIKE. ALSKFJLSJF. SO GOOD. Instead of their usual almost karaoke style live presentations they had three other guys in drums, bass and an extra guitar, and it ended up BEAUTIFUL and FANTASTIC and Time to Pretend was EPIC and they closed with Kids and it was SO SO AWESOME ASLDJF;JLK. My only complain is that they didn't play Indie Rokkers. BOO. That's around the time I ended up DRENCHED IN BEER THANKS TO CERTAIN DOUCHES.

And then people started smoking pot like their lives depended on it, so I ended up stenching of beer AND pot. EW. Pot makes me dizzy, anyway, I was still feeling a bit woozy this morning. Argh. I hate that about this kind of festivals.

Stone Temple Pilots was good, although I was still alone, and right in the smack of like, their very own fanclub, or something, so I felt a bit out of place. Still, they played rather amazingly. From then on it was like, INVASION OF THE THIRTY-SOMETHINGS. Seriously, all of the sudden half the crowd was made out of balding dudes, lol. Generation X to the attack!

I FINALLY found my friends a bit before Nine Inch Nails started, and we sort of backed away slowly because man, but I would so not like to be in the first rows for THAT specific concert. Especially not when everyone was high off their minds already. o_O Anyway, it started awesome, then it sort of lulled into this weird experimental part with like, sounds of TREES and stuff and it was, well, really WEIRD but then it rocked again and it was okay. They had pictures of Bush and McCain during The Hand That Feeds, lol. XD I'd already gone semi-deaf during MGMT's gig (I was riiiight in front of the speakers, at third row) and then I went HALF-BLIND during NIN's show because DAMN, BUT THAT'S SOME LIGHT SHOW. WHOA. So it was all AMAZING and fun and trippy and YAAAAY even if my feet and knees and back and neck ACHED so much by the end of it and even if I did reek of pot, haha.

I slept very badly last night (I always get funny dreams and/or sleepwalk after being in crowds, dunno why) and I've JUST finished my homework, along with having gone to social service ONLY for the damn designer not showing up, curse her. SO I'M TIRED. A LOT. And now I will sleep. YAY SLEEP.

(Someone in today's newspaper called The Kooks 'Like The Libertines, only without drugs.' Not quite true, no, but it still made me laugh.)

WAH! That sounds great! I am so sad MGMT isn't coming over here - there were rumours they might be coming for the festival on November 1st, but no luck. :( I am still going, though, mostly because of The Kaiser Chiefs, but there's also REM, Bloc Party and The Mars Volta, plus a handful of local bands, so it ought to be nice.

Ooooh that does sound quite quite awesome :DD The Mars Volta has incredibly trippy presentations, though - it was like, four 20 minutes long songs, yikes. But dude, Kaiser Chiefs! I'd love to see them live.

LOL yes, they are not really my thing. But I am so excited about the Kaisers! They look like so much fun live!
