SO, I've seen The Last Airbender.

Well, it's pretty bad.

I mean, I've definitely seen worse, it's not the most horrible movie the world has seen, but the original material is so, so wonderful that it makes the movie seem even worse by comparison.

I must admit, though, it does get much better in the second half, and Aang with the waves and whatnot was pretty cool. The first half though? SO AWKWARD. Very stilted and off-feeling and just... weird.

The pacing was all wrong. For a movie having so many stuff happening, it feels like it drags on forever and ever. Weird, that. The acting, excluding Dev Patel and maybe the guy playing Iroh, was shit. Dude playing Sokka was especially bad. SOKKA IS NOT FUNNY. THIS IS WRONG.

So EVERYONE else gets to be asian except the main characters, then? Wow. Fail.

Aang. AANG. Not Ong or whatever. Is it really THAT hard to say?

A Zhao without creepy facial hair is not Zhao. Likewise, Firelord Ozai looked like a regular nice dude, not an evil evil dictator. No presence there. Sigh. At least Azula smirked somewhat evilly in her 3.4 seconds of air time? That's the thing with this movie, everything was really bland, and no one looked really threatening and scary, like for example Ozai is in the series.

SUKIIII WHERE ARE YOU. I could've sworn the Kyoshi warriors were gonna be there. I'm--sort of glad Toph will probably never get tainted with this?

It could have been good! If only it hadn't had the cast of fail and if it hadn't been written so horribly. SIGH.

I MISS AVATAR. The real one. I think a re-watch is in order!
