So does anyone have fic recs for Avatar? I'm talking about the movie with blue people, not the animated series with far superior storytelling and more shades of gray. Saying it like that, I feel like I'm asking for recs in the wrong fandom, lol.

But I rewatched the movie yesterday (in bluray, man, it's so pretty, however simple a story), and I feel like there's room for some very interesting fic, along the lines of for example Neytiri discovering the guy she has the hots for is actually this tiny pink weird thing, or realising just how alien Jake is to that world. And then, like, blue porn. ngl, that sounds sort of fascinating, haha.

My weekend was spent baking about three kilos worth of cookies and cannoli. SO TIRING. But they're the traditional Christmas cookies my grandma used to do and now that she's not up the task it's my dad's (and my's, I suppose) responsability. And the cannoli were just because my dad had some in Chicago and fell in love. I'd never had one before so I'm not sure if they taste they way they're supposed to. They're not all that, the ones me made, to be honest. XD

Cannolis are suppose to be really, really rich and sweet. What kind of cookies did you make?

Mmm, well they're really sweet, the ones we made, but according to my dad to chocolate-y. I'm not all that sure I'd like the originals though. We made pecan cookies, the one that are little tiny balls and covered in confectioner's sugar, they're really in popular in here for christmas, and this kind of rhomboid-shape little cookie that's supposed to be a family recipe so I've no idea what they're called, lol. We usually just refer to them as 'little sticks' cookies and they're pretty much made out of butter, haha. Soooo tasty. :)

The pecan ones sound amazing! I love how different cultures have different holiday treats. Sugar cookies and ginger snaps are popular here in the US. I've had a bunch of people from England and Germany buy Toblerone candy bars in my store, because apparently they're a really popular Christmas candy over there.

traditional cannoli has ricotta or mascarpone in it, although many places in the US substitute it with whipped cream

that's all I know

besides the fact that cannoli tastes good

Oh, we used Ricotta! It was just a bit too rich and creamy for my taste? Like, I had one, and that was enough, I didn't really crave anymore. I guess I need to try them in a proper bakery, lol.
