LOVED THE HELL OUT OF IT, YOU GUYS.

It was just so well done - it's hard to do epic superhero movies in this scale and not make it horribly cheesy or so serious it grates, but this had the perfect balance of amazing action and intrigue with intimate character moments and great, believable interactions.

Words are sort of failing me, but anyway, it was epic, the last battle in Manhattan had some fantastic camera work in how it was showing everyone, everyone was amazing and competent and yet crazy and angry and they made such a great team. I pretty much kept making silly noises of happiness everytime something cool happened.

So I was like: Tony and Pepper in Stark tower! *HAPPY SQUEAL* Cap abusing boxing bags! *SOB* Natasha getting a bunc of mobsters their asses handed! *HAPPY SQUEAL* Coulson and his Captain America cards! *HAPPY SQUEAL* Loki! *HAPPY SQUEAL* Thor is back and hitting people! *HAPPY SQUEAL* Hellicarrier! *HAPPY SQUEAL* Fury and Maria Hill! *HAPPY SQUEAL* Team squabbling! *HAPPY SQUEAL* Natasha and Loki interrogation! *HAPPY SQUEAL* Final showdown! *HAPPY SQUEAL* EVERY SINGLE HULK MOMENT! *HAPPY SQUEAL*

There was, well, a lot of squealing. I DO WHAT I WANT.

Jesus, I laughed so much. So wasn't expecting that. I have to rewatch it very, very soon. In a giant screen, if possible. The lights went off halfway through the movie, and after much angry whistling, it came back and a manager apologized saying it was CFE's fault (elctricity company), at which there were many shouts of 'what, you didn't pay your bills?', lol.

I really hope they'll release a sort of director's cut or something, I'd be happy to sit through a three hour movie, and I'm sure there were lots of gold moments that had to be cut, like Cap seeing Peggy and the like.

I, um, feel a bit sad for Clint/Coulson, the ship that never was? I was pretty sad to see Coulson go, but on the other hand, I'm surprised I hadn't seen it coming? He got some great screentime though, so there's that.

I also loved how the mask Loki's wearing at the end sort of looks like he's had his mouth sewn shut? And if it wasn't I'll happily go on believing that, la la la.



I was fully expecting going out craving all the Tony/Steve fic and all the Loki creepy fic, but apart from that now I want ALL THE NATASHA FIC. ALL OF IT. NOW. And Tony/Pepper, too. In fact, just give me ALL the fic, yeah?

And now I'm only using tumblr savior for One Direction now! (I'm not quite sure who or what One Direction is, but all my insticts say I don't really want to know, so.)
