I kinda have a birthay party to go too but I don't quite feel like it. Ugh. Here's some Who thoughts instead:

I watched The Curse of Fenric and Battlefield yesterday and the day before and OOOOOH, ME LIKES. Especially TCoF, which was made of win. Seven'n'Ace are made of AWESOME. Wonderful awesome, even. They've so much chemistry together (be it romantic or platonic) and the Doctor's so very enchanted with her and she's so very obviously not taking any of his shit and SHE BLOWS STUFF UP. HAVE I MENTIONED SHE BLOWS STUFF UP? BECAUSE SHE DOES. AND IT IS AWESOME. And Seven. Oh, Seven. He's sweet in this really weird way (and mostly with Ace) and yet he's so very dark at times - I definitely see a shadow of him in Ten. AND LOL, ACE IS JEALOUS OF THE BRIGADIER XD (See? I knew the whole 'latest companion bitterness' was nothing new.)

The plots, well, they're Doctor Who plots, lol. So there's a lot of plotholes and weird stuff happening for no apparent reason and the four part structure does make it be slower than your usual tv series but they're still pretty engaging and The Curse of Fenric was somewhat creepy so oh well. I'm enjoying this 'yay, let's watch decades old television!' phase. I'm downloading Dragonfire and City of Death (that's Four and Romana II, though) right now and I'm all hyped up about it, lol.

Anyway, in music news, it's only now that I'm slowly immersing myself into David Bowie's discography that I see lots of references to his songs somewhere else. Like All time lows in Metric's Combat Baby, or Boy, could he play guitar in The Libertines' The Delaney, to name a few. (from Ashes to Ashes and Ziggy Stardust, respectively) It is pretty, pretty cool, as so is Bowie himself.

Speaking of which, um, does anyone have these songs? I've been trying to get them for days but alas, they refuse to be downloaded. I'd like: Diamond Dogs, The Heart's Filthy Lesson and The Man Who Sold the World.

Pretty please? *batts eyelashes*

Would Nirvana's unplugged Man Who Sold the World cover do anything for you? Alas, I don't have the Bowie original anymore :(

Mmm, that sounds cool enough, yes.

Also, hi, I added you back. :)

I pretty much have Bowie's whole discography{minus some of his 80s stuff}, so if you want anything let me know.

I told you Curse of Fenric was cool. :P I haven't seen Battlefield yet, but I've heard good things about it.

(You should try the audios; there is lots of Ace & Seven being Awesome.)

Also, you haven't seen City of Death? MUST WATCH. It's a great episode, although not my absolute favorite.

(What Romana have you seen?)

It's good, if odd, especially because there's girl power all around, lol. XD I loved how ruthless the Doctor is in CoF - especially the bit when he hurts Ace to saver her. *shudder*

Mmm, the audios. I'm so very tempted, even if I'm not good at concentrating when I've nothing to see.

Eeek, only one part left to download! I'm all excited about it, haha. Sadly, I've seen next to nothing of Romana. Just The Androids of Tara and The Creature in the Pit. I'll try and milk this 'yay old skool who!' phase for all its worth, though. *g*

Seven is rather badass, in a very English way.

I think you should watch a bit more Who, and then work on the audios. They're really quite good (and I'll tell you which ones are better than others). I have trouble with non-visual things - I keep wanting scripts for the audios - but I still love them to death.

Oh, City of Death is Romana in all her awesomeness. (Also, she has some nice snarky lines in Horns of Nimon, which is otherwise a lousy serial.) You should watch The Ribos Operation, The Pirate Planet and The Armageddon Factor - Romana I is one of my favorite companions (along with Liz & Martha & Romana II & Ace & Hex & ...), and those serials are why.

Indeed; yay old school Who! You're making me want to go watch one of the Three serials [livejournal.com profile] ressie_noldo has been pestering me about.
