Comment on this post. I will choose 6 interests from your profile and you will explain what each of them means (and why you're interested in them).
snubullownsyou asked me about these ones:
Alphonse Mucha: My absolute favorite painter, in any period. All of his paintings are so fluid and colorful and dreamy and absolutely stunning - this man's work is honestly beautiful. My favorite painting of his is Le Nuit.
Casanova: A wonderful British series about the life of Giacomo Casanova, playboy extraordinaire. The series that made me start fangirling David Tennant, it's so well written and acted and it has lovely music and costumes and cinematography and I just love it to bits. ♥
Garbage: While they're not my favorite band anymore, I still think of them fondly all the time, and I still love their music. My favorite song? Probably 'Sleep Together', although 'Deadwood' is also incredible.
Killing Moonix: inside joke, lol. I stole this interest from
terraneanblues in relation to
moonix, of course, and we all share it (there's a 'killing nekare' version too) because we like to believe we share the crown for supreme angst queen and we like to kill each other with angst. BECAUSE WE'RE THAT COOL.
Samurai Champloo: One of the best animes I've ever seen - this one was made by the same people that did Cowboy Bebop, Witch Hunter Robin and Ergo Proxy, and oposing Cowboy Bebop (which has Jazz in space), it's all about time misplacement and it's set in the Tokugawa era FEATURING HIP-HOP DANCING SAMURAIS. LIKE, FOR REAL. It's so awesome, promise, I nearly burst something laughing while watching it for the first time. Besides, the animation is top-notch.
Trainspotting: A truly amazing movie about a group of junkies in Scotland in the 90s - crude and honest and yet funny, this one's a hell of a jewel. Plus, it has Ewan McGregor in the main role, which is always a Very, Very, Good Thing. One of those movies that are wonderful in their simplicity.

dostoyevsky / gankutsuou / marlowe: gay atheist spy / morgan le fay / stealing other's interests / brooding smokers (lol)
(no subject)
Gankutsuou - anime absolutamente GENIAL y DEMENTE adaptado de El Conde de Montecristo de Dumas... pero ambientado en el futuro! MONTECRISTO IN SPACE. Descaradamente gay, tacky as hell, pero espectacular y sorprendentemente bien adaptado.
Stealing Other's Interests - pretty self-explanatory. Por supuesto, me lo robe. XD
brooding smokers - vease: Carlito Barato y Spike Spiegel por mencionar un par. La lista es larga. XD

bossa nova (my dad's a great fan of bossa nova, and I'm interested in seeing why you like it :))/ flight of the conchords / mst3k / os mutantes / vetinari / werder bremen
(no subject)
Bossa nova: I don't know, it's always been around, and I've liked it. I don't like how the rhythms were appropriated in the '60's for kitsch music, though. But I borrowed the soundtrack to Black Orpheus (the movie that popularized the music) and I played it so many times before I even saw the movie! And I've got tons of tracks by Antonio Carlos Jobim. It's just amazing to me how some of the sad songs can still have a great beat...I put music before lyrics, though great lyrics are a fantastic bonus.
Flight of the Conchords: a really funny folk comedy duo from New Zealand. My friend directed me to Youtube videos of their live performances, and boom! they became a favorite. They have songs like "Hiphopapotamus vs. Rhymenocerous" and lyrics like "I'm not crying/it's just raining/on my face."
Mst3k: Mystery Science Theater 3000! Tom Servo (a robot) and friends are forced to watch bad movies, so you see the movie and hear their snarky commentary. Their own movie is hilarious.
Os Mutantes: Part of Brazil's Tropicalia movement in the sixties. Many people describe them as a Brazilian Beatles, but (while I like the Beatles) I think they have their own brand of quirkiness, experimentation, and fun. They're very imaginative, and some of their songs are quite pretty.
Vetinari: One of my favorite characters from Terry Pratchett's Discworld book series. He's an ex-assassin who runs the metropolis of Ankh-Morpork with a cool, deadly hand.
Werder Bremen: My favorite German football club. They can be very good, and the players there tend to be fighters (figuratively). While the team is successful, they still keep an underdog vibe about them, and are much more down-to-earth than Bayern Munich. I first started supporting them because of Miroslav Klose. He left this year (for Bayern! event still source of much angst for me) but I'm still staying with the club. That's the awesome Bremen player Diego jumping in my icon.

Oh, coolness! I've only read one book in the Discworld series, sadly, because they're next to impossible to get in here and I always forget to buy some when I go to the States, hehe.
And... ok, to the football thing. I'm retarded about it, although my brother might know what you're talking about, lol XD

You should try out Guards! Guards! first to see if you'll like it. There are so many Discworld books (I once read seven in a week!), and they can be divided into cycles focusing on certain characters. The City Watch and Death cycles are the best, but some of the stand-alones are pretty good too. Oh, and Death is my favorite character.
hee, that's fine. -hugs-
I watch some Mexican football. My team's Toluca. -runs from flying vegetables- Your profile says you're from Jalisco...I'm guessing your brother's a Chivas fan?

Black books / bénabar / digg / h2g2 / television without pity / post-its (I'm assuming because of Dead Like Me?)
(no subject)
Bénabar -- A french singer that I adore. His songs are funny, I know a lot of them by heart. I can send you some if you want. He sings in French but the rythm is good so I'm sure you'll like even if you don't understand the lyrics.
digg -- digg.com, my principal source of information on the web. And a very addictive website.
h2g2 -- a series of sci fi books. It stands for The Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy. British, funny and it gives you the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything.
television without pity -- a website that provides reviews of a lot of tv shows. Often sarcastic, sometimes a bit mean but always funny.
post-its -- I'm a huge fan of post its (and of Dead Like Me :p ). I used to have a wall covered with post its on which I'd written quotes of stuff like that. I loved that wall :'

Ah, so that's what it stands for! I really should read it one of these days...
Oh wow, that sounds so awesome!

40 lines stare: remember that part in OotP when Remus kept staring at Sirius while he talked to Harry? And then he wouldn't stop looking at him for FORTY LINES IN THE FUCKING BOOK? Yeah, it's that.
Gomez: it's a band! I don't know where they're from but I have one album and they're really mellow and I like them a lot.
Spaced: best show ever. It's Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and Jessica Stevenson and Edgar Wright and it's dead funny. I love it. *icon*
Tobias Menzies: he played Brutus in Rome, and he's cute and I like him.
Toes: I like toes, and I like guys' toes. I just find them sexy, shutup.
