Watched a cool movie today, but I don't know the title ;-; Thing is, it had this fantasy subplots that would be so awesome for an entire story being based on them, and I would've digged the movie if they'd used them. Oh well.
It's 10:18 and only now I remembered that Doctor Who, in all it's subtitled glory is on TV. *kicks herself* And it's The Unquiet Dead, too! (I heart that episode, it's just so brilliant).
The new userinfo? HATE IT. It's truly, deeply horrible. Let's hope they listen to the EFFING 30+ PAGES of comments saying "OMG HIDEOUS".
Anyway, I'm going to the beach tomorrow morning, to the annual family reunion in Cuyutlán, what appears to be the MOST UNKNOWN BEACH EVER. Bah, whatever, I could really use some sun, my legs are awfully pale, especially compared to my arms (which are tanned as hell from being in a car under the blistering sun for more than an hour and a half every day). It should be fun, anyway, I'll try and bring pictures. :) I'll be back on Sunday (I knoooow, it's way too short of a trip considering it's 3+ hours away), so don't miss me too much, k? *winks*
Now, I feel like reccing:
Betrayals and Resurrections by
c_elisa. 5 lovely post X-3 vignettes, filling in where the movie was lacking. The ending, especially, gave me the chills.
In Revers by
laytoncolt. Silent, angsty Bobby/John after X-3, with them sorting through the consequences of their fight in the movie, and Bobby actually goes and takes John captive, and somehow, she doesn't turn it into a cliche.
A Topograhical Survey of the Island of Manhattan by
vagabond_sal. John, post X-2, waiting in New York for Magneto's orders while having no money, no food, no hope. He meets with the human version of the Avalanche, and it's all so sad and achey and the ending broke me. Wonderful, just like anything by this author, really (he writes the best Pyro fic ever).
Up and Down by
enkidu_fic. I've loved this two vignettes for a looooong time, perfectly twisted Sasu/Naru, just in the way it should be written.
Touch the Parade by
in_my_notebook. Oh just beatiful Sasu/Naru. If you think this is AU, think again. This has wonderful descriptions of life in a circus, and even when not a color is mentioned (sad, I know), it still feels so alive and full of movement.
Ta, folks. :)
