You know, it's really weird but Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes doesn't do much for me, perhaps because Jude Law's Watson gets me somewhat weak at the knees.*

Strange though, because RDJ's Tony Stark does funny things to my stomach. Especially in all those scenes in Afghanistan - those arms, and the hips and the swagger and ugh. So hot. The Avengers will probably BREAK people with all that hotness together in one single screen.

*I think it's how competent he is. And how superbly badass he comes across. Sherlock's John is still pretty badass, but you still want to pinch his cheeks a lot of the time, you know? And in a weird turn of events that's sort of the same reaction I have to Ritchie's!Holmes. A very 'awwww' one.

I've just discovered a part of my hair that didn't end up quite as straightened as it should have. Grr. Anyway, I'm about to get ready to the party, yayz. Embarassing part is, I'll be dancing flamenco *headdesk*. The party's from one of my dancing classmates, and she wanted us to all go and give a bit of a show *sigh* Let's see how that goes - I'll try and take my camera. :)

OOOh, it is madness today! Not only do I have to start downloading Army of Ghosts (OMG I'LL CRY SO MUCH I KNOW IT I KNOW IT), but some of my favorite artsy authors are posting in [livejournal.com profile] shacking_up, the Kinky Doctor Ficathon over at [livejournal.com profile] little_bit_foxy has started posting, [livejournal.com profile] rosemaryandrue has posted her new fic and OMG [livejournal.com profile] dogdaysofsummer has started again!! (of which no one had informed me...)

This will be one hell of a wonderful weekend. :))) *is happy*

Now, a bit of reviwing. (Gee, I haven't done one of these in a while, have I?)

Doctor Who 2x11 - Fear Her:INCLUDES THE SPOILER OF DOOM FOR THE END OF THE SEASON, DON'T CLICK IF YOU WANT TO BE UNSPOILED, SERIOUSLY. )

I loved the episode, even if not as much as the TIP/SP combo.

I'm itching to write, and yet nothign seem to come up. *sigh*

Well, I'm back. I will bitch and moan and complain about the stupid heat in another entry, since I'm too lazy to upload the pictures right now.

My love for Howl's Moving Castle is roaring, really - Howl is too much of an asshole not to love him, and Sophie's too much of a nosy gossip not to adore her. And Michael too, poor thing that got ignored in the movie and was changed for a kind of annoying six-year-old. Le sigh. Has anyone read A Woman True and Fair? It's this amazing fic that tells the book from Howl's point of view. The characterization? AMAZING.

I have no space left in my drive, so I can't download the newest Doctor Who just yet. Grr. I really have to watch "Wolves of Kromen" tonight, so I can have the space (that movie about werewolves that actually had 'Puppy-Love' in the summary 0_o)

Anyway, on the drive back home, I was thinking (SHOCKING, I KNOW): I've heard a lot of people going 'EUGH present tense is artsy-farsy me hates!!!!'. The same as second of first person, future tense, lower case, all that nifty stuff that sends me into fits of reading lust. So, what do you guys like and/or dislike while reading?

I know most of you, dear flist, are writers as well (I know [livejournal.com profile] moonix and [livejournal.com profile] earthanthem both like poetic imagery, for example, and that makes us three the IMAGERY WHORES OF DOOOOOM), but what ticks your buttons in just the right way? I only write in present tense because I personally find it easier to write (and to tinker with, both in English and Spanish), but apparently a lot of people find it annoying. *shurg*.

Tell me what you think, folks, and pimp if you like. :)

I've just re-watched X-2.

God, but I'd forgotten how damn good that movie is. I love the way that even through things going asploady, there's still this wonderful characterization (Pyro getting in touch with his inner psycopath, anyone?), and oooh, but yummy. The entire movie. And Wolvering getting all sweaty while hunting people and then using his leather uniforms. I fucking love the leather uniforms.

Of course, now that I've become the shameless little shipper that I am, I watched it with my SUPER SLASHER EYES (registered)! But even without that, I just payed much more attention to the baby!X-Men, meaning: Bobby, John and Rogue. The way they interacte with each other is just so intriguing, and seeing John looking so alone breaks my heart.

Love, love, love this movie. Why the fuck did Bryan Singer had to go and elope with Superman of all people? Clark Kent is not as cool as Tom Welling makes him to be. Seriously. *sigh*

AND THERE'S NIGHTCRAWLER. That alones makes the movie. I truly want to have his little blue-tailed kids. (And now I wanna go and re-watch whatever little X-Men: Evolution I taped even when the translation to 'Girls dig teh fuzzy guy' doesn't pair up XDD)

Right. After this big pointless entry, I'll just saunter off to go and watch Satan's Pit. Can't believe we're already on episode 9 ;-;

This week's episode was... Magnificent. *is still out of breath*

Doctor Who 2x08 - The Impossible Planet )

Obviously, I'm making up for not having written a review last week. Of which I still should talk about because my favorite episodes from this season, i order are:
- The Impossible Planet
- School Reunion
- The Idiot's Lantern.

*bounces* Can it be next saturday already? Pretty please?

I've just finished watching Doctor Who's "Rose" with the parents. They seemed to like it, although they were half asleep XD Ahhh, subtitles are GOOD indeed. So many things I hadn't been able to understand the first (and only, it appears, now that I think about it...) time I watched it.

And I noticed something: When facing the Nestene Conscience, Nine is all like "LEAVE THIS WORLD NOW!" and it sounded very much like Ten's shouting (even if for different reasons). Then, if Nine was just as bossy and dramatic and whatnot, what's the whole fuss about Ten not playing the part? Sure, he's different, but aren't all of the Doctor's encarnations different? That's the fun part, isn't it?

Now: Rec of the day: Still Time For You is *drum roll*... NIGHT WATCH FIC. Oh yeah, you heard that well, and it's wonderful! Yegor growing up, musing over Anton and himself and his role as the one from the prophecies. Lovely fic. :)

Bah, I had to left Japanese class early since I have just too much to do. And it was the last class of the semester, too... My essay on Juan Jose Arreola is currently 5 pages long, so woot, I'm halfway there *weeps* (and I'm adding photos of him, and using fragments of his stories to use more space!) Doing this has, though, brought back my love for La Migala, a wonderful, chilling story that really made me shudder the first time I read it. I ♥ that short story, my favorite of him. (I'm still hating doing the paper, though.)

My dad is back! And he brought alfajores with him, yay! (they're delicious sweets from both Chile and Argentina. Mmm...) Poor thing is still sick. Hopefully we'll go and get tacos tonight to celebrate (and so he can get some real Mexican food after all those days). And ugh, I still got LOTS of homework to do for writing class and I've got to go downtown at three to do a team project, which is a drag, and it'll only be there because all of the others have Photography in the Art Campus of college, and it's easier for them. I'll go by bus because I'm cheap and I don't wanna pay parking fees.

Am procrastinating as I write this because I don't wanna go back to homework. *weeps some more*

Doctor Who - The Five Doctors )

Okay, so I know shouldn't be doing this, but I'm booooored, and I need me sanity. So, Drabble Openings start now. They won't be done for a few days, but I do want to do something, at least. I especially love weird fandoms/pairings for drabbles... *hint, hint* So tell me a character/pairing, a prompt (no poetry, please) and to make things more interesting, a color.

Fandoms: HP (duh), Doctor Who, Alias, Narnia, Nip/Tuck, Fight Club, Howl's Moving Castle, Good Omens, Spirited Away.

My paper of Juan José Arreola is only two pages long as of now. *headdesk* Like I don't have another bazillion things to do. Yesterday, after Grey's Anatomy and Project Runway (woot Santino!!) I started watching The Five Doctors, and I started nodding off. Which is, like, horrible, since it was so cool! I couldn't even finish it, which is just growl worthy. (There'll probably be a longer, squee-filled entry about this later. Not like I'm trying to scare you, or anything.)

I went to see X-3: The Last Stand )

I didn't stay after the credits, and now that I'm reading my flist I'm seeing I really should have. ;-; Err, that was long... ETA: If you did stay after the credits, please don't spoil me. I'm hoping I'll see it again on Sunday.

I've never followed the comics, although the animated series from the 80s (along with the Spiderman one) were my childhood. So, fans from my flist, can anyone tell me how the original Phoeniex saga ended?
location: Don't you love international releases? I do.
