Oh, the pining

I wrote a thing! I wrote a LONG thing actually, and it is Steve/Bucky and it involves practice kissing and Bucky pining like an idiot and them making out during wartime. Yay!

400 words more and it would've been the longest thing I've ever written! Alas, it capped at 11,000 words. Of PINING.

And it’s just. It’s too much. Weeks of pain and months of missing Steve and his mouth and the stupid shit that comes out of it; years of molding himself to his back at night and pretending there’s nothing else to it apart from sharing warmth; a decade of his stomach twisting with the foolish desire to make Steve laugh.

KISSING. ALL THE KISSING.

Heeeey, so, me and [archiveofourown.org profile] notallbees, the artist formerly known as [profile] sazzlette, wrote a thing!

12,400 words of Steve and Bucky kissing accidentally until it's no longer accidental, in fact. <3 it was loads and loads of fun, and the first time i've written anything in like three or four years.

Bucky turns toward him, sliding his hand onto Steve’s hip as he mutters a lazy “G’night” and presses a soft kiss to the corner of Steve’s mouth. It takes him by surprise, and he barely has time to register Bucky’s half-closed eyes and the warmth of whiskey-ripe breath on his lips, before it’s over.

The one about the recruits that didn’t make the cut [XMFC, Inception, Erik/Charles, Arthur/Eames, R]

Title: The one about the recruits that didn’t make the cut
Word Count: 1800
Summary: In which Charles keeps on finding Arthur and Eames making out under the bushes near the mansion.
Author's Notes: Written for [personal profile] ignipes, who gave me the awesome prompt of 'that time Charles and Erik try to recruit Eames and Arthur'. You know that fantastic XMFC/Inception crossover on the kink meme? Yeah, this isn’t that. This is pure fluffy CRACK. It was really fun to write, though.

They find Eames in Vegas, turning into beautiful, dangerous women and egging on high rollers into betting more before taking their money, leaving them panting and hard and tied to their plush hotel chairs. )

Impasse [Inception, Arthur/Eames, R]

Yeah, so this was supposed to be a 500 word drabble. My mind didn't like that plan :3

Title: Impasse
Word Count: 7300
Summary Creation and destruction is fluid in the dreaming. When something falls into pieces, it can become something new before it hits the ground. This fact is etched into Arthur’s brain, always there in the forefront of his mind, but it is only lately that he has begun to think of Eames in the same terms.
Author's Notes: Betaed by the fantastic [personal profile] sablier_bloque! Written for [personal profile] kyasuriin, who requested stuff blowing up, and [personal profile] haltlos, who asked for matching totems. I had lots of fun writing this, these characters are just so amazingly insane. :D

The first time they kiss is just as hazy as the dream, almost unreal in how good and hot and wrong and right it feels. )

Inertia [X-Men: First Class, Erik/Charles, R]

This fandom is so addictive. I'm loving it! And of course, the X-men universe always feels like a well-worn jumper that just fits right, for all that it's not like I've written lots for it. But I've loved it since I was a wee girl in love with the cartoon, so there's that. :D

Title: Inertia
Word Count: 7000
Summary They call to each other, partly because they're both attracted to power, and partly in a way that becomes obvious in those soft brushes against each other, all those touches and glances and the way they keep on surprising each other. How they could never be bored by one another.
Author's Notes: Betaed by the fantastic [personal profile] sablier_bloque! I’m running with the idea (based in trufax, even!) that the US placed those missiles in Turkey in April, and the culmination of the Cuban Missile Crisis was in October, so we have months instead of the weeks they made it look like in the movie.

They talk about books and philosophy and Charles gets to practice his rusty German as they drive across the country, sweating a bit against the vinyl under the sun he’d forgotten about in Oxford. The air is warm and dusty through the open windows as Erik corrects him on his pronunciation, turning to look at him far too much instead of at the road. Erik always stares at him like he’s the only person in the room, in the miles around them, in the entire earth. It should be overwhelming, but it strangely isn’t. )

Geometry [Doctor Who, Amy/Rory, Eleven/River, PG-13]

Who fic! I really liked writing this, these people are just too fun to write. :3

Title: Geometry
Word Count: 3200
Summary: There are four sides to the story. From four slightly insane people.
Author's Notes: Betaed by the lovely [personal profile] reena_jenkins. Born out of my immeasurable love for the current team TARDIS! And how they're all lovely but really messed up. I was listening to a song from the Gattaca soundtrack - The Other Side by Michael Nyman - obsessively while writing this. You can listen to it here.

Space and time have a way with messing with people’s minds. There is just too much of them, too much for any mind of any species to fully comprehend. )

podfic!

Guys!! Awesome thing! The lovely [livejournal.com profile] reena_jenkins has made a podcast of one of my fics, Migratory Birds! You can get it here. That's so very cool. It's a bit of an old fic, SPN/X-Men movieverse, which is lonnng and very dear to my heart, and now I can listen to it! Yayz. I'm still getting it at the minute, I'm excited about it. :D

Remember This, Remember Me [Doctor Who, Amy/Rory, Amy/Eleven]

It's been a nice day. I usually hate football but today's match wasn't half bad, and I got a yummy breakfast and a new skirt. Yayz all around. And now, fic! In which I love the new TARDIS team an incredible amount. :)

Written with Bat for Lashes on repeat. It sort of does work as a sountrack!

Title: Remember This, Remember Me
Word Count: 8500
Summary: There is a hole in Amy’s memory.
Author Notes: Written out of loving the series so much so far but missing Rory quite a lot as well. Betaed by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] shaggydogstail. Written before 5x11.

She remembers a lot of things, but she has the feeling that there is something she’s forgotten and she can’t remember what. )

Of the twigs caught in your hair [Merlin, Arthur/Merlin, R]

Some MOAR Merlin fic, because the show is seriously too much fun. :3

Title: Of the twigs caught in your hair
Word Count: 2800
Pairing: Arthur/Merlin
Summary: In which there is a forest, and nymphs, and two lost boys.
Author's Notes: Slight spoilers for Le Morte d'Arthur. Betaed by the awesome [livejournal.com profile] sarie_gamgee. Much thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mon_starling and [livejournal.com profile] crooked for the prompting. ♥ If 'the boys get lost in the woods' isn't a fandom cliche by now, it totally should be, because it is shiny and awesomecakes. Yes.

Then there’s the forest, older than Merlin has ever seen, and he can practically feel it pulsing with magic, ancient and earthy in feeling, and by the looks of Arthur, back stiff and knuckles white around the reins, he can feel it too. )

Prophesy [Merlin, Arthur/Merlin, PG-13]

EEK, MERLIN FIC. I DON'T EVEN KNOW, YOU GUYS. Still, I really like this and I had a blast writing it and it got me to write fic again after a bazillion years, so all in all, WIN. In honor to the show being renewed (;lsjdfasjf!!!) and of Arthur's bratty ways and of Merlin's creepy adorably smirks and that fact that today is FINALE day, omg, what will I do without the show for so lonnnng.

Title: Prophesy
Word Count: 7290
Pairing: Arthur/Merlin
Summary: In which Merlin dreams, and sometimes, his dreams come true.
Author's notes: Betaed by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] such_heights. Written because of my immense and rather surprising love at this little fantastically gay show. Why did I choose to show said love with serious ominous fic instead of crack, I have no idea, but that is how things go, I suppose.

Merlin dreams. He dreams of Camelot, thriving with life, brighter than he’s ever seen it. He dreams of light filtering through the throne room’s windows, casting Arthur’s hair golden, a match to his crown. )

Short story time! A translation should be coming to a theatre LJ near you, uh, sometime in the next few days. Because I am lazy, yes. Anyway, for all that I spent ages writing it (I only wrote it during school, at a rate of like, 500 meager words per week, lol), I'm sort of fond of this one, especially because I hadn't allowed myself to sound so mexican in my writing in, oh, ages. Also present is my blantant love for repetition, haha.

Migratory Birds [Supernatural/X-,Men Movieverse crossover, gen, PG-13, 1/2]

It's finally apocalypse day! And with it comes the large fic of doom! :D Okay, now we're playing a game. It's called 'guess which XMM mutants are Ale's favorite!' You only get one chance. Aaaand, go. It's weird, though - I've only seen X-3 once, and have been trying to forget it ever happened since, and with all the comics I've been reading all summer long, I spent a long time trying to remember canon, lol. At one point I included Genosha and then had to cut it out, and the same with Pietro and Wanda, haha.

Seriously, I had a great time writing this, and this is truly one of the most entertaining ficathons ever. :DDD

Title: Migratory Birds
Word Count: 11,426
Fandom: Supernatural/X-Men Movieverse crossover
Summary: When the end comes, one brother is on one side, and the other on the opposite.
Author Notes: Betaed by the awesome [livejournal.com profile] mellafe and [livejournal.com profile] amchara, written for [livejournal.com profile] kellifer_fic in the occasion of [livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon. Sort of AU-ish for SPN, post X-3 for X-Men.

Grease-stained [Iron Man, Tony/Pepper, PG-13]

As if my obsession with this movie couldn't be more obvious. HA. I couldn't resist the angst, though, because I am, well, me.

Title: Grease-stained
Word Count: 4600
Fandom/pairing: Iron Man, Tony/Pepper
Summary: This is what being Iron Man is.
Author Notes: Movieverse. Betaed by the wondeful [livejournal.com profile] nomelon. Writing this has convinced of what a scary place Tony's head must be. To which I say: AWESOME. :D

Blindfold [The Boondock Saints, Connor/Murphy, PG-13]

Ah, homework. It is slaying me. ;___;

I should know better than posting on a Sunday, but I really like this and I want to share it already, hee.

Title: Blindfold
Word Count: 3689
Fandom: The Boondock Saints
Pairing: Connor/Murphy
Summary: Life on the road, life with their father, life with blood on their hands.
Author Notes: In case you've never seen the movie but want to read anyway: Basically, it's about a pair of Irish fraternal twins that drink a lot, smoke a lot, and believe they're on a mission from God to slay evil men. All while touching each other, also a lot. :D :D

I listened to these two songs (one from the soundtrack, one not) on repeat while writing this. You should, too. :)

They tend to each other’s bruises, each other’s wounds, wincing under the flickering light bulb of this month’s, this week’s, this day’s motel bathroom, sitting on the toilet with the twin in turn standing up in front of him. )

Lines (Make Me Want to Cross Them) [Bones, Booth/Brennan, R]

SPN tonight, YAY!! So excited, guys. And meanwhile, here, some Bones fic to tide us all over until we get the uber cute episode of cute on Monday! YAY AGAIN. This isn't really the fic I set out to write (I was going for short and artsy), but in the end I think it suits the show better. So, this might be the start of a wonderful career in Bones fic writing? Not sure, but let's hope so. :D

Title: Lines (Make Me Want to Cross Them)
Word Count: 4375
Pairing: Booth/Brennan
Summary: When it happens, like it was supposed to because there has always been a certain degree of inevitability with them, it happens like this.
Author Notes: Betaed by [livejournal.com profile] sasha_davidovna, slight spoilers for 3x09 - Santa in the Slush.

When she was still in school, long before the Jeffersonian and Booth and trips around the world in search of corpses that wouldn’t abandon her like the living did, she couldn’t touch anyone without thinking of the bones beneath their skin. )

Title: Find Me in the Dark
Word Count: 1800
Summary: Amnesia fic, baby.
Author Notes: Written for the awesomecakes [livejournal.com profile] crooked in honor of her birthday. ♥ I posted somewhat of a survey asking what was my flist's favorite spn cliche. Bodyswap won, so I wrote amnesia fic. Because I'm weird like that. Um.
