I have a bazillion half-written posts in a google doc that I then forget to actually post. MY HEAD, WHERE IS AT. They all boil down to: Wolf of wall street was well done but two hours of stupid male fantasy / Frozen was cute but most of the songs were 'eh' and I've found the songs for all of the latest Disney movies to be 'eh' and I'm not sure if it's 'cause I'm not 8 anymore / I hate bullshit drivers so much why can't people use blinkers. So deep.

Today is apparently Zombie Pride day, so I did this for the uni my agency works for. Brainssss.

I'm rewatching Sailor Moon, because apparently I've misplaced my childhood, and I'm having a blast. I'm about to start reading the manga too, yayz.

And here's a sketch that wasn't accepted for valentine's day at work so I'll color it on my own anyway. )

So yeah, I've drawn fanart for the first time in like, forever, lol. This is what Eleven & Amy do to me, they're just too awesome!

I'm supposed to do this clothes catalogue for my brother's t-shirt line (the same one I'm doing my thesis on, ugh), and I am sick of him pestering me about it. Granted, I should be working more on it (rather than, you know, draw tardises and whatnot...) but STILL. GRR.

There's been drawing today! Well, some drawing, mostly photoshopping. But oh well.

Also! I've aquired Legend of the Seeker because... well, because I'm bored, mostly. And avoiding my thesis. Shall watch it tomorrow. WILL I LIKE IT? WILL I HATE IT? I know there are young ladies dressed entirely in red leather, which sounds sort of hot, to be honest.

Wow, it has been a long time since I'd shared any art, hasn't it? And, if you've friended me in the last, oh, six months or so, yeah, I do draw, lol.

lots of horns! )

Fiiiinally, a drawing I actually like, after some time of being in such a rut, art wise. Hopefully my block will get better! (also, I'm sort of working in a 'line' of birthday cards, to be sold in Etsy as part of my 'help get me back to England' fund, details to come later.)

I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN WATCHMEN. BECAUSE I SUCK.

Well, no. Mostly I just procrastinated on my homework all day long and then I really had to do it and couldn't go to the cinema anymore. D'aww. I think I'll go tomorrow after class, though. And here is said homework, by the way XD I was supposed to either draw my window or do a picture collage-like thing.

Cambridge yesterday was so PRETTY. :) I can't imagine actually going to school there, though, it looks like something out of a period movie, not a university, lol. King's College was rather breathtaking, and the city is really small, but quite charming, as is all the people in bikes and the pretty boys in short rugby shorts. :3 I also had a Cornwall pasty and fudge for the first time, which was sort of amazing. BUT! Because life is like that, our coach broke down (whyyyyy does it always happen to me, wtf) and we had to wait around for an extra two hours, by which time we were exhausted and had seen every single street in the city, lol. You can so tell only really nerdy people study there - by 6pm all the stores close and everything goes quiet and there's no one on the streets. o_O quite a far cry from Leeds, where the freshmen go out and get drunk every. single. fucking. night.

Fucking freshies, they're so annoying. Especially when they set the fire alarms off, the assholes.

So I mentioned I've been drawing a lot as of lately, right? AND THEN DIDN'T DELIVER? Yeah. So here it is! In a way I love this art kick, and in another I hate it because usually while in an art funk I can't write at all, and viceversa, and I miss writing. And then when I write I miss drawing. WATCH ME BEING ~COMPLICATED~.

Two acrylics, three watercolors and one ink on paper pieces, including a talking giraffe, lol. )

I tend to post art first to my artsy fartsy and movie reviews blog, which I decided to rescue from oblivion a while ago, lol.

Instead of actual, you know, video stuff we talked about/watched pictures of urban art in Video II class today, and it was so very awesome. I have always found urban art, and stencil especially to be incredibly fascinating - the anonimity, the risk, the illegality of it, the outright challenge to authorities and the mix of social message with pure undiluted art - it all makes for an incredibly versatile, fruitful medium. I LOVE it. There's few things I like most than finding a new stencil somewhere in my school (artsy school, remember - we usually get to see a stancil first before it spreads to the city) or in the streets I usually go to.

Wonderful, true story from the Guadalajara street art 'scene': A guy used to leave stencils and stickers of a sad guy all over, and a girl started replying, adding stencils of a happy guy next to his art. They've been chasing each other all over the city, and recently she's leaving messages of Where are you? next to her art. YOU GUYS. THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY AWESOME AND ROMANTIC. ♥

Anyway, I'm obsessed with Banksy. He's the guy that made the stencil of the two male cops kissing - I refuse to believe there's someone who hasn't seen it/heard about it yet. He's pretty hot stuff right now, but the dude's art is so brilliant I can't put it at fault. Anyway, I'd seen some of his stuff, but hadn't heard about the crazy stunts he pulls to pretty much laugh at the system - the guy went into an exhibition of Neanderthals, left a rock carving of a caveman with a supermaket car and only talked about it when no one noticed for weeks. It's so exciting! Guerrilla art always is. Said Video II teacher shared his experience of graffiting around the city, how thrilling it is and how he used to strap the spray bottles to his ankles, lol.

I really want to stencil something somewhere. At least once.

My internet SUCKS and it is preventing me from getting my SPN fix. Two tries already, argh. SO, meanwhile:

I've mainly been drawing for school as of lately, but yesterday I realized just how many little (and not so little) sketches I'd accumulated. So, here they are!

Flamenco classes finally started back this week, and you've no idea how glad I am. I depend on it a lot, because it always leaves me in a good mood and there's good conversation and gossip and it's just incredible fun. I've been dancing for 9 and a half years, I don't know what I would do without it.

I've been watching Journeyman for a while already, but three days ago I hit the Poing of No Return, meaning I've been watching it obsessively, lol. I can't believe how good it is, and how it STILL got cancelled. *fumes* So I really recomend it, guys, it makes me gasp in the most delighting way. *goes away to continue the marathon*

On mother's day/father's day/Christmas/first communions/birthdays etc. I always end up being the one doing the celebration card, because no one else in my family has any artistical talent whatsoever, lol. I always do them in like, five minutes, but they're sort of cute, so. Tomorrow's my mom's birthday (congrats mom!) and this is her card )

We'll be going downtown tomorrow during Hystory of Mexican Graphic class to see José Clemente Orozco's murals. I'd be excited about it if I hadn't stared them until me eyes bled (okay, I exagerate, but) during my senior year of high school for a giant project in Art History. Oh well, it's better than class, I guess. And speaking of which, last class we saw a bit of his earliest work, all caricature and oh, it was really good! I mean, everyone knows he was a genious when talking about murals, but that's a whole new facet of him I didn't knew before.

I'm working on that '10 Doctor Who personal canon facts' meme but I've been distracted. And I have The Last King of Scotland on my hard drive and I really want to watch it tonight.

Oh, yeah, I finally saw last week's Heroes and wee, it was pretty good! This is old news, though, lol.

Now, who wants to see some photos of my graphite and charcoal drawings for school? They're large! they're black and white! they're nudes! yay! )

I got the original photographs form deviantart.com so if you happen to be the photographer, well... Know that I digged your work and that I'm totally not getting any profit, (or good grades, for that matter) or something.
