lucius malfoy bemuggled

Lucius is allowed to send a letter a week nowadays. They never reach the destinatary, though, because Lucius won't listen to the orderlies, no matter how many times they patiently explain that no, the pidgeons by his barred window will not deliver them. He's a good patient, though. He usually just sits on his bed, knees close to his body, caressing the little branch he'd once found on the backyard. Everyone smiles and nods when he claims it's magic.

For [livejournal.com profile] mysid:Harry Potter James Potter and the Shrieking Shack

James is starting to believe that the Shrieking Shack is haunted after all. Nobody belives him, of course, because his friends are big pillocks with not an ounce of imagination in their thick skulls, but still. He's been there three times already during the week, on nights that are most definitely not the full moon, and yet, there was trashing and moaning and screaming from upstairs, and on a particularly scary night, a sneeze. It is dusty in there, though, and he doesn't think it that farfetched to find a ghost with allergies. Sirius keeps on saying that he's finally lost it, and Poor James, he never stood a chance against insanity. James wonders why both Sirius and Remus always look a bit flushed when James starts to talk about the Daunting Haunting of the Mighty Shack (oh, do shut up, it sounded nice in his head), and why they're never around when he decides to go exploring. No matter. James will find the truth. The question is, when he does, will he like it?

For [livejournal.com profile] such_heights:All Tomorrow's Yesterdays

It's October 2nd, 1981, and Lily sits on a rocking chair with her son clinging to her neck, and tells her about a world in which his daddy doesn't have to be late for supper because he's chasing evil wizars, of a time when his grandparents were still alive and could still spoil him rotten. She tries not to talk about the future, just in case. The least she needs is more bad luck.

For [livejournal.com profile] dixie_pinky:El día que Harry y Ron decidieron empezar a jugar futbol

For [livejournal.com profile] lilian_cho:Cry for Me, Mr. Fell

A karaoke night gone horribly wrong. Aziraphale hadn't even known angels could get hangovers.

Another Day, Another 'Up Yours' to the System, Fight Club.

I guess it shouldn't feel this good to watch as the news channels signals go down, as the world enters chaos and all they can tune in their pathetic televisions are soap operas and Cheers re-runs and those horribly perky infomercials. I probably shouldn't be laughing as Marla stares at me from under her hat, mouth strained as if she was keeping herself from laughing as well. I probably shouldn't feel Tyler smiling by my side, tongue between his teeth and the bruise I put there last night making his eye look purple. It actually feels quite brilliant. It feels like freedom, at last.

Harry James Potter, Spy Extraordinaire, and his archnemesis and sometime-lover, Draceana Malfoy

Really, thought Harry as he dangled from a rope, trying to keep his toes from touching the starving shark-infested pool, I didn't sign up for this when they said chicks digged MI6 agents. He sighs rather patetically as his much hated (albeit kinda hot) archnemesis laughed rather manically next to the pool, holding a mass-destruction thingy between her hands. And he hadn't even gotten to drive an Aston Martin! Life sucks, he decided, as he set to seduce the megalomaniac in the room.

For [livejournal.com profile] pink_faerie81:Skin In Which I Curled, Sirius/James

Sirius bleeds into James and Lily's couch in a snowy night, right eye almost closed with a stray curse. His side is still bleeding from another, and he's not so far gone not to notice the sheer panic in James' eyes as he rushes to get a potion for the wound. Lily puts her hand on his forehead, cool and warm at the same time, and he almost feels bad for having fucked her husband in that same couch the week before.

Man, now I kinda feel like writing this...

For [livejournal.com profile] sazzlette:Jumping in Puddles

The summer before seventh year, as James helps Sirius furnish his brand-new (and horrible, too) apartment. London in the rain and if Sirius ends up bringing a duck back home after a day romping through the rainy city, well, he can hardly be blamed.

For [livejournal.com profile] wanderlight: Remember That One Time...?

Sirius and James get far too drunk on their last night at Hogwarts. Fighting ensues, 'cause really, Prongs, you're telling me I don't remember how you nearly pissed your pants during the Charms prank?, and Fuck off, Padfoot, that did NOT happen!. James should probably feel surprised when Sirius kisses him, but he just giggles a bit, pulls Sirius' hair, says Finally, into Sirius' ear and laughs a bit when Sirius shivers on top of him.
nekare: (Ergo Proxy - Real)
Ultimate X-Men update: I can't begin to say how much I loved Magnetic North. Not only the writing was flawless, but Steve Immonen might be my new favorite illustrator for X-Men (and can't they keep him? For like, for good? Pretty please?). It was beautifully drawn, and wow, his inker and colorist are wonderful too. The Story was great! All that lovely plot and so many mutants and so many different points of view - just wow. This one and 'Return of the King' are my favorite arcs.

I haven't gone to the movies for almost a week and a half. This is le sad, and I wanted to go today (to see anything at this point, although I do wanna see 'Monster House' and 'My Super Ex-girlfriend'). 'Thumbsucker's finally out, though, I'll try and go by myself in the week.

I read vol. 4 of The Sandman yesterday, and man, how awesome it is. Still not as good as vol. 2, but it was soooo well done.

I'm writing! I've only like, 300 words, but it's something. Ergo Proxy, though. Post ep 13 but taking some elements from ep 14.

I'm kinda stuck at the moment, though, so, so get my creative juices flowing (and doesn't that sound odd?), I'll write sentence-long fic to whoever comments with a fandom, pairing, and prompt. Go nuts.

And, uh, people I still owe drabbles to, I do still remember about it. They'll be written. Eventually. *cough*

La-la-la, don't you love my crossposting? I really like the somber tone of this...

Title: Listen to the Finger Against Your Lips
Rating: PG-13
Pairing/s: Sirius/Lily, Sirius/James
Summary: Lily only wants to be comforted.
Word Count: 576
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] javajunkie13, with the prompt 'Rain Boots' and 'Red'.

When he faces her, she’s just as immobile as before, her lips still tinted with the barest of blues as water slides down her face, her clothes... )
nekare: (colorful Doctor)
Bah, I had to left Japanese class early since I have just too much to do. And it was the last class of the semester, too... My essay on Juan Jose Arreola is currently 5 pages long, so woot, I'm halfway there *weeps* (and I'm adding photos of him, and using fragments of his stories to use more space!) Doing this has, though, brought back my love for La Migala, a wonderful, chilling story that really made me shudder the first time I read it. I ♥ that short story, my favorite of him. (I'm still hating doing the paper, though.)

My dad is back! And he brought alfajores with him, yay! (they're delicious sweets from both Chile and Argentina. Mmm...) Poor thing is still sick. Hopefully we'll go and get tacos tonight to celebrate (and so he can get some real Mexican food after all those days). And ugh, I still got LOTS of homework to do for writing class and I've got to go downtown at three to do a team project, which is a drag, and it'll only be there because all of the others have Photography in the Art Campus of college, and it's easier for them. I'll go by bus because I'm cheap and I don't wanna pay parking fees.

Am procrastinating as I write this because I don't wanna go back to homework. *weeps some more*

Doctor Who - The Five Doctors )

Okay, so I know shouldn't be doing this, but I'm booooored, and I need me sanity. So, Drabble Openings start now. They won't be done for a few days, but I do want to do something, at least. I especially love weird fandoms/pairings for drabbles... *hint, hint* So tell me a character/pairing, a prompt (no poetry, please) and to make things more interesting, a color.

Fandoms: HP (duh), Doctor Who, Alias, Narnia, Nip/Tuck, Fight Club, Howl's Moving Castle, Good Omens, Spirited Away.

I've just finished reading one of the most amazing books I've read in ages. Delirio, by Laura Restrepo. It's just, gah, wonderful and strange and unique and it made me gasp so much. It's about this literature professor, Aguilar, who goes in a short trip only to find a message on his recorder at his return telling him he's got to pick up his wife, Agustina, at a hotel. When he goes see her, she's lost her mind completely, and he stumbles through her 'recovery' as he tries figuring out her past and just what is it that happened to her in that weekend.

This is such a touching book. You can feel the characters, their voices, since it changes POV quite often, and Agustina's voice, especially, is deeply chilling. The prose is gorgeous, even when it takes some time to get used to it, since there are no quotation marks at all, there can be an entire conversation in one paragraph, and it balances between third and first person. It's definitely become one of my favorite books of all time. :))

In other news, apparently my folks won't be going to NYC after all. *headdesk* I spent all morning saving those lovely recs you gave me into my hard drive. *sigh* oh well, at least now I've lot's to read. XD

And I'm LAME SINCE I FORGOT ABOUT THE [livejournal.com profile] harry_and_ron round robin. Ugh, I feel so terrible about it...

But!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] anael!!!! Hope you had a wonderful time, and so sorry I couldn't write something longer for you. XD (I feel like such an infidel for writing this. but oh well, it was fun.)
