I went ice-skating today! It was awessssome. I absolutely love ice-skating, but I hardly ever get to do it, which is sad. It started snowing a bit while we were in the rink, which was a bit surreal, and it's pretty much the only place in Leeds that still has small mountains of snow surrounding it, which is probably in purpose - it works a hell of a lot as advertising, haha.

I have just seen the trailer for the new Torchwood episodes, and I have to say it looks promising. Expandone line spoilers ) It sound remarkably like a Who plot - Torchwood plots tend to be more... loltastic, say. Am not as excited with the thought of not actually watching it on tv - yeah, yeah, iplayer and everything, but. Still. Aaaah, I miss TV. Like, even back home I didn't watch that much tv, but it's a good thing to do in the afternoons when you have nothing to do and want your brain to shut down for a while (the perfect remedy is watching The Girls Next Door or something like it. It's incredibly trashy, yes, but incredibly entertaining as well, lol.)

One of my flatmates reminds me so much of Eve Myles. Which is weird, as she is Finnish. Huh.

Gossip Girl this week was incredibly boring Y/Y? Go back to being deliciously evil and sexy and Chuck/Blair-filled, show, PLZ PLZ. Pretty much, the shows I'm enjoying the most right now is HIMYM (Barneeeeey) and Fringe - I never hear any squee for Fringe in LJ but it's SO GOOD. Like, 1st season of Alias good. I've heard so many comments on how Lost is shiny again and I SORT of want to go back to it, but... S3 confused the hell out of me, yo. Before I stopped watching, that is. I haven't seen a single episode of Heroes for like five or six months. I don't even miss it, which is sad. I do mis S1, though. I'll force my mom to watch my DVDs with me during the summer.

I both liked and hated last night's episode of Heroes. (3x05, Angels and Demons). Liked it because the show is finally back at being surprising, and shocking. Hated it because some of the surprises aren't entirely nice ones. ExpandLIKE THIS PART. NOOOOO. )

HUH. And here I thought I was only going to do a two line review. ERRRR.

Eww, my fingerprints are all black from charcoal...

We'll be going downtown tomorrow during Hystory of Mexican Graphic class to see José Clemente Orozco's murals. I'd be excited about it if I hadn't stared them until me eyes bled (okay, I exagerate, but) during my senior year of high school for a giant project in Art History. Oh well, it's better than class, I guess. And speaking of which, last class we saw a bit of his earliest work, all caricature and oh, it was really good! I mean, everyone knows he was a genious when talking about murals, but that's a whole new facet of him I didn't knew before.

I'm working on that '10 Doctor Who personal canon facts' meme but I've been distracted. And I have The Last King of Scotland on my hard drive and I really want to watch it tonight.

Oh, yeah, I finally saw last week's Heroes and wee, it was pretty good! This is old news, though, lol.

ExpandNow, who wants to see some photos of my graphite and charcoal drawings for school? They're large! they're black and white! they're nudes! yay! )

I got the original photographs form deviantart.com so if you happen to be the photographer, well... Know that I digged your work and that I'm totally not getting any profit, (or good grades, for that matter) or something.

Flown away like dandelion seeds.

My brother got himself the new iTouch. Watch me be green with envy. *grabby hands* I've always thought the iPhone hype was mere stupidy (although admitedly, I hate phones, so that has something to do with it), but this baby is truly delightful. I AM BEING SEDUCED BY IT, I SWEAR. I love my blue nano, but I've wanted a video iPod for a long time now and I feel as if the little thing is CALLING ME. Such prettiness.

It's weird, though, because the new iPod generation hasn't started selling in here yet (he asked a friend of my dad's in the states to buy it for him and ship it here), so I've never seen one before in here. When did the little bitch become such a tech whore, anyway? (and where the hell did he get the money? o_O)

"The world is saved"

Am rewatching (and writting commentary as I go!) Heroes because it was so. damn. awesome. Seriously, it blew my mind away - I immediatly went and texted Gillian in a very capslocky way and he was all like 'OMG DON'T YOU DARE SPOIL ME' because he's watching it as it airs on the tv, and thus, is about 14 episodes behind XD

ExpandHeroes 1x20 - Five Years Gone ) In regular time, it's still October, 2006, right? Because the bomb was supposed to go off on November the 5th? Man, that's a lot of stuff to happen in such a short time. o_O

I did say the other day that I was going to rant about Superman, didn't I? I finished reading the JLA + The Avengers run and OMG BUT SUPERMAN'S SUCH A DUCHEBAG. Really, he's a sanctimonious bastard while wearing the cape, and a complete nobody as Clark ('soso' as we'd say in Spanish). As crappy as Smallville has been this season (which, coincidentally enough, is on right now), at least it features a more human and normal Clark. *shrug*

So I wrote a bit last night for [livejournal.com profile] moonix's birthday, and oh, it felt good. I hadn't written anything since I finished my remix. So now I have about 300 words of my Death Touch!Sammy fic and a lame 200 on my Heroes [livejournal.com profile] apocalypthon entry (why yes, I'll be writing TWO entries. That's how much I love apocalypse fic XDD) - at least I've already figured out the reason everyone kicked it, I guess.

So, remix authors have been reveiled and wee, [livejournal.com profile] das_kabinett remixed Companionship Is You (Harry/Ron) and did an amazing work! That story always bothered me because it was pretty much plotless, but she managed to give it a wonderful backstory and THERE'S HARRY AND RON BEING COPS SUPER AURORS THAT WATCH CSI. The story ended up as pure win, and making complete sense. Go read it! Companionship Is You (The Stealing Is A Crime Remix)

I wrote a remix of [livejournal.com profile] ishafel's Vigil, which was hard, because the story was quite rounded up already. In the end, though, I think I ended up with a strong Sam voice, and I do love to write children, so that's good. :) Weirdly enough, I started respecting a lot the original author's style, but near the end it becomes a very me story, i.e. lots and lots of one-liners *g* I'll repost it in here tomorrow, but here's a link, for now: Vigil (The Waiting in the Dark Remix).

Wow, you guys deserve a prize if you've made it all the way here o_O So, the runway for the costume design I entered was on Friday and OMG I'M SO SHOCKED WE DIDN'T WIN. [/sarcasm] The dress didn't end up looking that bad, not really, but... Anita's the only in the group that can sew, so she did whatever she wanted with the dress and it ended up SPARKLY. Yes, in all caps and bolded. Girl diggs her glitter, I guess. The rest of the team? Not so much. So bah. The runway itself was pretty fun and we laughed a lot and there were some seriously kick ass costumes - one of which was a girl dressed up as a fireman, with only the hose being the entire dress. Yeah, imagine the wolf-whistling XDD And the guy I like showed up, which was nice. :)) I'm just glad it's over, truth to be told.

Tomorrow, I'll bitch about Superman's lameness. Why yes, I know you're all excited about it. *g*

The pretty, it is shiny.

I went to the movies all by myself (ah, the joys of no longer depending on people for some stuff) to see The Fountain, and I actually liked it quite a lot. To the point where I cried a bit. One of those movies that you end up kinda confused and not getting what the hell happened but everything else is just so beautiful that you just don't care (but I just went and read some synopsis and wow everything has become much clearer). I loved the differences between the characters (mostly because they were played by the same people), and Hugh Jackman was awesome. Also, the cinematography and music were both kinda gorgeous, and the romance was so well done and perfect and it made me sigh quite a lot. Why was it so ignored in the Oscars? If they didn't get it, the visual effects are astounding enough to at least get a nomination in that... I really want to see it again, and once again I wonder, why the hell haven't I seen Requiem for a Dream yet? Even my brother loved it. *shakes head at self*

Anyway, I'm feeling tired so tonight's reviews aren't gonna be as long as my usual:

ExpandHeroes 1x18 - Parasite: )Stupid April 23, being so damn far away. *mumbles angrily*

I got quite a horrible headache today - I just had to go and lay down and take a nap just so it would mostly go away. This is mostly thanks to my mom's genes (great thing to inherit, huh?), and I actually got it easy, considering that some of my cousins have this horrible migranes that have them laying on their beds crying for the pain to stop o_O Still, out of a week and a half, I haven't had a headache only TWO days. The rest? I've managed thanks to the awesomecakes of sedalmerck. *sigh* I'm thinking maybe starting some homeopathy treatment, seeing that it worked mostly okay for my mom.

Wank makes me anxious. Especially this kind of wank, the one that isn't funny (like, you know, the whole 'Jensen is a hobo-killer mandroid pregnant with Jared's love child!' think kinda was), and it's kinda hurtful to people and makes fandom a scary, angry place.

When we should clearly be thinking happy thoughts and writing porn. Or something. *sigh*

In other news, OMG I FORGOT TO TALK ABOUT THIS WEEK'S HEROES. Mainly because I was too busy fucking CRYING to try and form words on Tuesday night. One of my favorite episodes from the season, definitely, it was so beautiful and messed up and well done and it had me gasping at times. Wonderful, that episode.

Also, I'm up to ep. 11 of Veronica Mars, and while this season's definitely not as good as the first one, it is still full of shiny and me loves it very much. *sigh* Duncan. Logan! *sighs some more*

ETA: Oh yeah, and I finally decided to say 'LJ? What's that?' just like [livejournal.com profile] julia_linnea suggested if my friend talks about his LJ again. Part of what I love so much about having an LJ is being able to talk right and left about WHATEVER I want, and not caring about people might think, and having him around would... not ruin it, but kinda dampen the mood. *shrug* I would so like to see him boggle if he'd ever compair my flist to his, though *cackles evilly*

I wanna fly, damnit.

One block away from the flamenco academy? THIS ASSHOLE HITS MY CAR. It was just a scratch and whatever, but it's my first ever trafic accident (if... you don't count the time I smashed my right mirror into another car, that is... *shifty eyes*), and I'm such a baby that I called my mom before I called the insurance. *goes on looking shifty* And dude, the guy didn't even TALK to me. Oh well, at least he admitted it was his fault.

Bad thing is, I have to take it to the shop in between a fortnight, and I kinda need my car to go to school... Sure, I could take the bus, but it's about oh, TWO effing hours by bus, and buses start passing around at 6, and I'd have to leave at 5AM to get to my 7AM classes... *tears out hair* And my mom's not too keen on lending me her car. Granted, it's a freaking beautiful SUV and she takes care of it as if it was her kid, and I drive as if I, you know, owned a noisy, bumped around, diminutive, chevy pop. But still. Faith, woman, you need more faith in me.

Mmm, it's the second year in a row that I don't get ashes on my forehead in Ash Wednesday. After all of that eternity in Catholic schools, I'd gotten used to just be dragged around to mass... I didn't eat meat, though, so I hope that counts. *TEH RETURN OF TEH SHIFTY EYES*

Oh, those cheerleaders with sweet little smiles. And kinkiness, it appears.

Update on the 'Let's Get Ale A Decent Schedule' front: SUCCESS. I probably should feel rotten because I kinda pretended I had a part job on the afternoons to get my teachers to change my schedule, but really, it's not like they (or the school, for that matter) made it easy for me so THERE. I have to get some 'proof' of my 'job' though, so I asked a favor to an uncle of mine to, uh, forge said 'proof'. Um. Anyway, that knot of anxiousness in my stomach probably won't go away until the 'deal' gets closed on Monday afternoon, but I still feel as if a weight had been taken off my shoulders. *big sigh*

Anyway, I'm tired, I got out of school at about 12:30 and then had to drive back at 4, so it all amounts to almost three hours driving and about four else trying to fight for my oh-so-desired Design II slot. Pft. Anyway, I did promise coherence, didn't I? There is none in the next review. I apologize. (Also, I don't know why, but I keep on typing 'destruction' instead of 'distraction'. My brother and I plotted this cracked up video game yesterday. o_O He was thinking of a cheap Halo rip-off but then I got carried away and started thinking about an underground tunnel web beneath the San Juan de Dios market that people used to use to smuggle pirate CDs and the like and that they start using as an army refuge after the aliens come and attack the earth. January writing round-up!

Dejen Que Las Dunas Lo Entierren, Original, PG.
Post apocalypse universe, in which the world has turned into a giant desert and the only culture remaining is the Arab one, living in Europe because the heat's unbearable down south. I really was going to translate this, but I was kinda sick of it after days of not thinking of anything else. What d' you think guys, want me to finish the translation?

Keep Walking (Nothing To See Here), Supernatural, gen, PG-13.
The world ends on Tuesday the thirteenth, as Dean is trying to choose between Lays and Doritos in a run-down convenience store. I kinda really like this one. Especially the zombies. Zombieeeees.

Nameless, original, boyslash, R.
He likes to get you to pant for him, to shut your eyes because looking at him is too much when he's talking like that, nose brushing your eyelids. he likes to kiss you by the open window, smirking at random people walking past it.

UGH, ONLY THREE, SO LAME. I don't know why I've been having so much trouble to write as of lately. I'm writing longer stuff, sure, but last January? I wrote TWENTY-ONE fics, 17 of them being a large, plotty series. *stabs muse* And right now I'm in that mood again, when I'm ACHING to write and yet I don't feel like writing what I should be writing. ARGH. It's so frustrating.
